Back to blogWho is Going to Win the 2019/20 Europa League?

The Europa League is finally set to resume, nearly five months after the first leg of most of the round of 16 games took place. That means, we still need to figure out who will be heading to the quarter finals and thus begin the unique knockout tournament format across four locations in Germany that will be used to conclude this season’s competition.
The big question is though, who will be lifting the trophy in Cologne on 21 August? Below, we run through three of the favourites.
Sevilla
Although Sevilla still have to overcome an almighty challenge from Roma in their one-off round of 16 game, it would be remis to rule out the Andalusians from enjoying more Europa League success this year.
After all, Sevilla – who have already secured a Champions League spot for next season after finishing fourth in La Liga – won three consecutive Europa League titles between 2014 and 2016.
Manchester United
Another recent winner (2017) of this competition, Manchester United have bene in imperious form since football restarted in England, winning six and drawing three of their nine league games.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have blossomed since the January signing of Bruno Fernandes in January, and it looks like they could be back challenging on the domestic front next season too.
Inter Milan
Inter should enter the Europa League fighting fit, with the Serie A season ending just five days before they face Spain’s Getafe in their one-off knockout tie against Getafe.
The Italians invested heavily last summer and have seen a dramatic improvement this season, with big names like Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen and Alexis Sanchez adding some real firepower up top.
